exploring veneziaJuly 22, 2016 | Travel Venice was not somewhere I had really planned on enjoying, well much to my surprise it was one of my favorite stops along our European travels. When I stepped foot outside the train station on the Grand Canal I was in awe of it's beauty. The turquoise waters reflecting the tones of the terra-cotta buildings was truly jaw dropping. Despite being isolated and hard to navigate Venice is so alive. The city streets and alley ways are packed with surprises around every corner. Venice offered so much and I wish I had more time to experience the magic of the city. Venice is known for the gondola rides so of corse we had to take one. All though they can be expensive, its such a great way to see the city built on water! Another thing that totally surprised me is the architecture. Obviously every where I went had beautiful buildings but learning about how the city was built on the water and about the Byzantine influence was so interesting and made me appreciate Venezia more. I loved Venice so much!! Too see more pictures of my time in Venezia check my Instagram @benformisano
