Spring Break Travel DiarY Day 1After arriving at Luna Blanca, Encanto resort in Rocky Point, Mexico, we checked into our room, which was hands down one of the nicest places I have stayed at! The resort had 6 pools, 4 hot tubs, outdoor beds, palapas, gym, and spa facilities! Due to privacy reasons I am not going to share photos of the room but it was almost 3000 square feet and also had a 900 square foot out door deck with panoramic views of the beach. The first day I unpacked my luggage and relaxed by the beach. That night we enjoyed cooking in our room! The kitchen was amazing and it was nice to cook in and not have to worry about driving to and from town. Views from private sandy beach just outside our rooms. Day 2
Day 3That day we spent some time on the Sea of Cortez, and then drove into town! Many people seem hesitant to come to Puerto Penasco, Mexico, being right off the border. All I will say is that I have spent many weeks here and it is very american(ized). Many places in town accept dollars and most people speak English. 'Town' is filled with street venders, expensive restaurants, and iconic shops filled with handmade goods! That night we went to El Delfin Amigable (friendly dolphin). The food is amazing and it has amazing views of the port and Sandy Beach. Day 4On day 4 we took out the golf cart to explore some sand dunes and marvel at the beautiful landscape. The sand dunes (as pictured in title image) were amazing! We got to sit and enjoy the amazing views of the turquoise waters hitting the yellow sand! After our golf cart safari we brunched at a friends beach front home! Then I went exploring at the 'reef', volcanic rocks only reviled at low tide. The rocks form tide pools that are home to sea critters such as eels, octopi, crabs, guppies, and rays! You would be amazed to see what lies under some of those rocks. That night, around four, we caravanned to town to visit my favorite restaurant, La Casa Del Capitan, a renovated home/restaurant on top of the only hill in Rocky Point. The balcony relives views stretching from Sandy Beach to Playa Miramar where we were staying! The food is incredible and there sunset views cannot be rivaled by anyone! 10/10 amazing experience! Day 5Time to head home... a sad day for all of us! Despite having to head out before noon, I managed to sneak in one more sunrise yoga and explored the estuary behind our resort! The estuary is home to schools of large fish and massive sandbar islands! Beware the groups of camouflaged rays that hang out in between the sandbars though! Overall I had an amazing time exploring Puerto Penasco and would recommend it to any one who is looking for a relaxing beach vacation!!
