Cinque Terre, is a national park in Italy. The preservation of the buildings and streets are amazing and the beautiful beaches are astonishing. It is so Italian and one of my favorite places I have visited.
Cinque Terre (n.) - Italian to English translation - five lands
The five towns along the Italian riviera are filled with colorful buildings, turquoise water, and pebbled beaches. Although it can be difficult to get to, and expensive, it's totally worth it!
Visiting the town of Vernazza was my favorite, make sure to walk down the pier and spot the waterfall! The water was warm and you can find amazing cliff jumping, and swimming in the marina. Beware the barnacles, they are sharper than you think and can give you a pretty nasty cut (I learned the hard way)
If you are there for an extended period of time, I would recommend buying an umbrella/lounge chair, although they are pricey it's a great way to experience the Italian riviera.
