Higher Power |
When I am feeling un - enthusiastic ( the word enthusiasm literally means Devine Inspiration or Inspired by God) I turn to a few tools. I love tapping into gratitude and the things I am grateful for. Readings like The God Memorandum from The Greatest Miracle in The World is a reading I need frequently to remind myself how blessed I am. Writing out a gratitude list has been MAJOR, in getting re-inspired | I also think it is important to cut time out of my day to dedicate to making contact with something greater than me - many people call this prayer. For me it is important to slow my thoughts and breathing -with meditation a lot of the time - and actually get on my knees to contact the universe. For me it is helpful because it's an action associated with my words and I get self worth from knowing I took time out of my day to take this action. |
The Breakdown-
For a long time I didn't know what to say or ask for while praying.... for me the breakdown that works best is....
I ASK GOD TO BE WITH ME IN THAT MOMENT
THEN I SAY THANKS FOR ALL THAT I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH
I PRAY THAT GOD HELP REMOVE ANY DEFECTS OF CHARACTER THAT ARE NO LONGER SERVING ME
I PRAY FOR OTHERS- GOD BE WITH THEM THROUGH WHATEVER IT IS THEY ARE GOING THROUGH AND I PRAY FOR THEIR HEALTH AND WISH THEM ABUNDANCE IN LIFE
THEN I ASK GOD TO WALK WITH ME AND COME FIND ME THROUGHOUT MY DAY WHEN I NEED HIM THE MOST
AMEN

Along with prayer I also utilize Meditation. For me I have learned about so many good recordings on Spotify and Apple Music that I can do first thing in the morning for a clear headspace or as I am falling asleep. I will write more on meditation and mindfulness but knowing there was helpful resources for me to use was greatly beneficial.

MY QUARANTINE GOALS/RESOLUTIONS
During this time I think it is super important we do a lot of self reflection, and for me I decided to draft a list of some resolutions to try to get through the uncertainty of this time. Life is about a give and take so I decided to try to GIVE up some of my bad habits and TAKE and adopt some new ones to help strengthen my mindset..
DO:
Practice prayer or meditation everyday - make an effort to connect with a higher power
Move my body in some way be it morning flow yoga or a bike ride or a full body circuit (shoutout Katelynn Nolan for yours :)
Eat using the method of Food Combining
Read a book (Kenzie Burk 21 days until your best body)
Discover new music/ play the piano

DON'T

- maybe wake up early for breakfast and make them something yummy and vegan...
Indulge in to much time on social media
Stare at a screen all day - this one hurt to write -- especially with ozark season 3 premiering.

MY MORNING ROUTINE
RISE n' SHINE-Growing up I couldn't wait to get up and get started on my day. I'm sure my parents hated it... I was up by 6 or 7 at the latest almost everyday. It wasn't until later that I started getting in the habit of sleeping in. In this quarantine my original mindset was to stay up as late as possible so I could sleep through the days and make time go faster - I was sorely mistaken... This is a habit I'm breaking my trying to keep a sense of normalcy - even in this quarantine. 8 AM I love to start my morning with a hot lemon water and prepare a bowl of fruit or maybe a banana depending on my mood. I have wrote about the importance of both of these on my blog prior to todays post if you want to check them out :) 9 AM I like to do a flow cycle or some type of stretching workout to prepare me for my Alexis Ren 10 min ab cycle or/ Chloe Ting ab routine cycle. I learned that doing stretching and some flow yoga before this helps me perform even better. It's also very important I do these workouts on a quite EMPTY stomach, to help maximize my cores ability. |
After my workout
I will make a wellness shot... maybe my vital proteins collagen shot, a vitamin c shot, apple cider vinegar etc... and take my vitamins. I take a daily vitamin, collagen, and iron every morning. I want to get more into probiotics like Seed but my wellness adventure has not ventured there yet... If I am still feeling hungry I will fix myself either avocado toast with lemon and salt and pepper and Kenzie Burk's body sculpting lemonade (lemon, water, cayenne pepper, and honey) or a green juice with vegan protein.

I will shower and try to get as ready as possible for the day. I even put shoes on trust me it helps even if you are just around the house. I will say a little prayer... my favorite is so simple just the serenity prayer
"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference"
or if I'm feeling rushed just a quick
"God find me in this moment and walk with me throughout my day"

FRUIT FIRST HERE'S WHY

Fruit is one of the fastest digesting foods. We don't want anything interfering with our digestion of fruit. For example.... say we eat a complex carb or something high in fat like an avocado before we eat our fruit, the fruit will finish digesting first but won't be able to leave our stomach because the complex carb is still getting digested, causing the sugars in the fruit to ferment leading to multiple DIGESTIVE ISSUES such as bloating and gas. Another notable reason to eat fruit first thing in the morning is to extract the MAXIMUM amount of nutrients and vitamins. Eating fruit on an empty stomach will allow our bodies to extract all of the nutrients the food has to offer. The third reason this is important is for HYDRATION. Most of us don't drink water during our 8 hours of sleep so we wake up in the morning DEHYDRATED. Our food takes up about 20% of our water intake of the day so making sure we are eating hydrating foods that will lead to a variety of BENEFITS such as skin, hair, and weight loss.

VEGAN CLEAN COOKIE/
COOKIE DOUGH RECIPE
PREFACESince going vegan I have realized what a sweet tooth I have. I've been craving it all... cookies, brownies, ice cream, luckily I have found tons of new ways to get satisfaction without anything harmful. Today I thought I would share my favorite treat recently. Protein packed and super yummy, cookies :) I personally like it better as just dough like the cookie dough at Nami - Green New American Vegetarian, but you can bake them as well. LETS GET STARTEDBLEND A CUP OF OATS IN A FOOD PROCESSOR OR BLENDER UNTIL A FINE POWDER ADD IN 1/2 A CAN OF WHITE OR GARBANZO BEANS 1/4 CUP COCONUT SUGAR A SPLAH OF VANILLA EXTRACT 1 SCOOP VEGAN PROTEIN POWDER SPOON FULL OF NUT BUTTER 1/2 A CUP OF ALMOND MILK/OAT MILK/COCONUT MILK BLEND ADD CHOCOLATE CHIPS OR CACCAO NIBS ENJOY |
